1.
The empties form a pyramid at the center of the table as our crossed eyes try to focus on the girls. The married one sits smiling as convincingly as one could hope and sober he's got good credit and a car. When I met you in a bar like this it was like something someone would write but now I sit here listing in the tragic crowded desert night. For what it's worth there's some things that no one can understand She lacks the sick capacity to create a problem where none exists and I'm grateful but I wonder what's the catch? In a borrowed shirt I get sick in the bushes by the main road and I wonder if at the wedding I'll wear a vest When I get home I'll hold you and we'll stay like that for minutes then we'll retire quietly and we'll sleep well like we used to for what it's worth there's some things that no one can understand
2.
Milky liberated thighs dimpled from two years of drinking without consequence (until now) glisten in the strobing pink and yellow light, you stumble as I cringe you barely conceal your smile Then you came twice and I got sick on your complimentary bath towels and I don't think we'll see each other again. Reeling that our fathers fought and died and evolved so one day their own progeny could dance for free shots, weeping chanting mourners howl in the dark crowd: "we know for what we sin but for what is it we turn down?" We built a desert to worship thirst and to honor life's mistakes, and every army needs a flag so we bear it with a smile on our face and I'm quite sure we won't see each other again.

Mixing feel- good sonic sunshine with wonderfully raspy vocals seems to be the perfect combination for California based indy rock band, Work Friend. I can’t stop listening to this unassuming stunner. Album opener “Any Good” is the perfect open road song to help soundtrack your summer-to-autumn transition in style.
